cant speak about the 9ltr one ..BUT I do use the 50ltr ( exact same design ) for my bunch of royals , mostly sub - adult but one adult . I find them excellent to use , I also have drilled a small hole at the lid top ( middle ) and push a dowel peg thru. I like peace of mind but have to admit before doing this I would watch them try push the lid up , it moved EVER so slightly but not enuff fro them to escape via . Like I said I just wanted extra security on mine. The lid handles on mine also have ' peg holes at each side. HTH

thanks nice tip about the dowel peg. I use the 50ltr boxes for adults but have eggs that are gonna hatch about the 11th of august so looking around at different size boxes for them. I am after boxes that are escape proof. They will be on shelves but not a few inches between the box and shelf above hence the need to be escape proof??
ANy ideas?
I have 3 spare medium conticos in a rack which will cater for 3 babys but need to work out the other 4.

thanks
mike

just a thought.
the 4 litre and the 9 litre have the same floor space but the 9 litre has 70mm more height.

Which is better, 85mm height or 155mm height.

Do other people use these and which one do they go for?
what height wopuld people go for?

mike
