Hi, what do you keep Mantis in, is it a terrarium. Also Please could you post some pics of your mantis shelter.

Also could i put a mantis in 30x30x30 terrarium, if so which one.Thanks

most people keep them in deli cups (not found these in the uk though) or sweet jars.

I have a bunch of mantids in a 50+ gallon aquarium with millipedes and a permenant fruit fly culture.

I have an exo terra ready for any of my larger ones that hit adult, then once that dies it will have something else in it.

But my orchid mantis and chineese are both in 18 x 18 x 18 cm mesh and wood cages with perspex doors.

Lots of breeders say the mantis will struggle to hunt in a larger container and may starve, but this has not been a problem for me... but I do see how it could happen with some of the more "docile" mantids.

What sp are you planning on putting in it?
Unless its something big like a chinese etc it might be a bit large?

I keep my adults of larger sp in petpals/geos or mesh cages, smaller sp in plastic pint glasses and nymphs etc in deli cups.

I keep all the young ones in plastic cups and the adults in those big cereal containers, I dont have any adults at the moment so the tubs are not set up otherwise id post them.

Also I saw loads of those deli cups for sale on ebay the other day.

Nymphs and small species are kept in deli-cups, or ff culture tubs.
Bigger in home made vented tubs, then adults in sweet jars or homemade tubes.
Kept some in the big critter keepers, but they lack height. Used to have a giant asain in a 12x12x12 spider cube. Was massive for him tho.

Oh, also have 1 freerange on a ficus on the desk...

Thanks. They must be small if they are fine with a deli cup as there enclosure. Would a 30x30x30 terrarium be ok for one.
