i have a few spare fish tanks and i would like to put rhacs in one or more of them and i was just wondering if i could and how i would go about it, here are the measurements (LxWxH)

2 measuring
45 x 25 x 25 cm one with a plastic lid and one wioth no lid at all..

1 measuring 60 x 30 x 30 cm, with sliding glass cover and hood containing a light unit

1 measuring 60 x 30 x 36 cm with a hood containing a light unit.

would it be possible to convert any of these into a tank for rhacs (or if not another arboreal gecko)

thanks

No doubt putting mesh on the top would be much like the Exo Terras except no doors Wink Why not make a wooden frame slightly bigger than the tank and put mesh in it so it sits on the top

They are all long rather than high which I think would pose a problem. The 60x30x30 and 60x30x36 you could put a glass divide in the middle to make 2 30 cubes and 2 30x30x36's. These would be good if you ever got into breeding cresties and would house a couple of babies each for a few months.

To be honest unless they can be turned so they are taller I don't think are big enough for most arboreals. I could be wrong though.

well i was thinking about somehow converting them into tall tanks by putting them on its side, but i do not know how to convert it so that it will be properly ventilated and such.

should i post this in viv design?

If you ask (and probably even if you don't Laughing ) it will be moved to the viv design section. When you have sorted what sizes you are having then you could post back here or in general lizards as to what will fit in the tanks.

You could stand them up so they are taller, then at the top say about 4 inches, you could make some kind of mesh frame to allow ventilation. Then silicon glass runners to the glass to take the glass doors.. Shouldnt be to complicated..I hope... Very Happy

yer as above add some mesh for ventilation and turn it on its side so it is higher rather than longer!
You have a lot of spare fish tanks! Smile

thanks guys,

yes i do have alot of spare fish tanks, i used to be mad into fish (because i wasn't allowed reptiles) but when i got reptiles i needed to narrow down my collection of fish. I used to have 7 tanks (5 tropical and 2 cold water) now i only have 3 tropical tnaks, soon to be 2, as my mum is making narrow down again Sad
