can sombody give me a quick rundown as to how you would go about emigrating from abroad (nowhere precise) and attempting to bring a taipan with you.
What would you need to obtain to do it? I'm assuming you need CITES paperwork to get it through customs and DWA licence from your local council.
Would it need to be quarantined? if so, how long for and where? |

Hi,
it really does depend on where it is coming from, I'm pretty sure that if it is a PNG taipan then export should be fairly straight forward, however the Aussies are pretty strict on exportation of native wildlife. Taipan are not CITES listed so a simple import/export license should suffice. Within the EU it should be very easy indeed. As for quarantine, none....however I wouldn't put it in a collection without proper quarantine/screening first.
Hope this helps, but I am intrigued about the question, any more info?
