Bromeliads
Orchids
Ferns
Dischidia
Hoya
most of these can be planted in substrate and or mounted on a background or branch _________________ Paul

any idea on a good place to buy them? LOL.
Back to the orchids (i do keep a lot myself), but which do well in a vivarium in comparison to the many species that are available. Sorry if it's a lot to ask! |

I keep an umbrella plant, Bromeliad, ficus and a dragon fern in with my crestie and he loves it. He always hides in the same leaf of his bromeliad like his own little bed and i also have a creeper, pothos i think but it isnt taking to well I have them all planted in the substrate which is about 2 inch thick with gravel underneath for drainage. _________________ 0.0.1 Rhacodactylus ciliatus (Crested Gecko) |

here's a list of what I have used in dart frog vivaria with success, this being said Rhac vivs are alot less humid/allowed to dry out so there's alot more out there..
Epidendrum porpax
Gomesa crispa
Ornithphora radicans
Encyclia linkiana
Encyclia zebrina
Encyclia spp
Aspasia lunata
Cirrhopetalium ornatissimum
leptotes unicolor
I would imgaine paphs would do well and bulbophyllums (smaller species)
Ludisia and other jewel orchids do extremly well in vivaria since they prefer lower light levels.
If your gonna use Orchids in vivariums the substrate either needs to be very loose and well airated or they need to be mounted on somthing. _________________ Paul

I use ficus, ivy, pothos, bromeliads, umbrella plants, yucca. I think nasturtiums can be used, they flower. I don't know how well they do in a tank though but I'll let you know as I'm planning on putting some in my chameleon's tank as I hear they like to eat the flowers. |
