of mealworms/darkling beetles?

I use about 10000 mealworms per week, at the moment my lab tech gets them from a live foods company, I was wondering if ti'd be cheaper/easier/more reliable to set up a colony?

Mealworms, VERY easy to breed.

If you have the space to set up enough trays then go for it Wink

They are very easy to breed. I kept mine in a big tub with an inch thick layer of porridge oats at the bottom. I fed them apple, potato, etc and eventually saw teeny tiny baby worms at the bottom. Just keep feeding them and you should be able to keep them going. Cleaning them out was a pain, though.

I do breed roaches, but I can't feed them to my beetles, theya re too big, hence the mealworms.
