went to a motor bike rally yesterday and we came across a grass snake basking in the middle of the road, on the approach of our very noisy trike the snake immediately fled to a patch of bramble at the roadside. There was water and farmland nearby so its obviously an ideal habitat, but thats the first time I've ever seen one, we were well chuffed Smile

have heard of Barnston but have never been. The snake we saw was near the MFN club at Shipley Gate.
