Just recieved a group of Cynops orientalis (common I know, but i like them) for my large tank that I have been setting up. They are currently in temp. accomadation while i moitor their eating habits etc. (and while I monitor the water perameters in their large tank)

I like them too Sam even if they are common but remember whats common today wont be tomorrow becuase people wont keep them becuase they are 'common" Wink

Not as yet-they are being temporarily housed in a simplistic set up whilst I work on their main viv a little more.

Great newts, Sam. Just make sure the lid you have is really secure. When I kept fire bellied newts a long time ago, they both escaped through a tiny crack between the lid and the tank, and died. Crying or Very sad

thats a real shame! after losing some plethodon cinereus the same way I am being extra careful, but thanks for the heads up on this species
