thats really interesting, one of my males will sit on the bridge whilst the females hunt, and just watch them. sometimes i actually have to take him out to put him in a tub with some coz he lets em all go! _________________ [3.2.6 R.Ciliatus|1.4.7 R.Auriculatus

Perhaps they instinctively know the females are in more need of the protein to feed the eggs developing inside them? Maybe they routinely lose their appetite after mating too allow this to happen?
Although I admitt I don't know how long the gestation period is for Crested Gekos.
Anyway I'm guessing this would enhance their chances of survival.
Just a guess though _________________ You can't trust the snake......but you can always trust the snake to be a snake. |

Spud never used to climb on the sides of the tank whereas Biscuit always does, but in the last few weeks Spuds decided that its her fav thing!! lol _________________

You could try to hand feed him a couple if you're worried about him not getting enough. My females tend to eat more than their fair share of the locusts but my male is always first into the CGD so I don't worry about him too much. _________________
