sorry if this question is always asked but i am looking into getting a decent camera for a reasonable price. ideally i would like one that can be used for indoor viv shots and outside in the field shots. i'm willing to spend between £250-£500 but i want to make sure i'm getting my money's worth.
thanks to anyone with any help/advice.

As Eggman says we both have a bit of banter about nikon vs canon but in reality they are both superb cameras...each has a model in a price range to suit everyone from beginner to pro. At the end of the day as eggman stated its not the body but comes down to what lens you place on it.. I have seen some shockingly bad pics taken with a top end nikon camera and cheap lens... What is your budget?..a nikon d80 or 400d would be a great start but if they are out of the price range maybe a d50 or 350d would suit better..In terms of performance it would be very hard for joe bloggs to tell the difference. Most dslr's produce awesom quality photos and ideally it comes down to which you prefer the feel of..go out and see if you can get hands on with one..I found the canons a little small for my liking and I already owned some nikon lenses which swayed my decision but if you have no investment in either company you've nothing to lose.. _________________

My sentiments exactly, it's a lot of doo-lar. Decided to wait til my collection has maxed out all available space before buying a decent camera. _________________ A lil bit of Madagascar

and also if you know how to use em haha, im no good with all the techy terms for photography, my investment will be in geckos somewhere along the line, but good luck with all that jazz, my phone has a cybershot, which takes awesome pics, but only in natural daylight. il find somehting at some point, my phone will do for now (bet that is blasphemy to you all photography fans!) sorrry lol. _________________ [3.2.6 R.Ciliatus|1.4.7 R.Auriculatus

Not blasphemy if you have the super duper Sony Ericsson or the new Nokia with 5mp camera _________________ A lil bit of Madagascar
