|
|
I know I said I'd wait to use real plants but couldn't resist to get a nice ficus yesterday to add to the cresties viv.
Scott said to cut the root ball in half and plant into the substrate, question I didn't ask: is it necessary to remove all traces of the original soil... could any fertilizer present be harmful to the cresties?
Thanks _________________ Connie |

Hi Connie, with regards all the soil, I'd soak the ficus in a bowl of warm water & then wash off all the soil & then trim the root ball down to about half its size, I've just planted mine striaght into coco fibre in the past with no problem.
Hope that helps

I left all the plants in the orginal pots as it was easier to take them out rather than disturb the entire tank.

.
I really like the variegated creeping fig you have in some of them. I have a normal creeping fig in one of my setups, it just sends out really long runners though, would look much better if it was bushy like the ones in your setups :[.
Any other close up photos of the other setups like the first pic? _________________ Steve P |
