They will be fine just give them a good soak in a weak bleach solution, i leave mine overnight, then the same soak in clean water, let them dry out and they are good to go _________________

so i don't have to strip the bark or anything then?
Sounds simple enough, gonna have to find a tub large enough to soak it in now though lol.
Thanks for your help |

Nope you don't. How about using the bath?
I have heard that baby bottle steralising solution can also be used for those who aren'table to cope with/are allergic to bleach, but as I don't use either I can't comment. I nuke them and as they are not that big the bits always fit, as I tend to buy the larger pieces, though about to experiments with one I made from papaer will let you know how it goes. Has anyone had experience of this? |

I don't use bleach, just pour boiling water over the branch, that will do the job. _________________ John

Yes I agree with John I wouldn't use bleach at all. The chemicals will always soak into the grain of the wood leaving trace elements no matter how much you rinse. This could be a problem if the wood ever became wet again from ie. water bowl or spraying.
Just pour boiling water over as John said then leave to cool. |
