I was talking with Scott about my crestie laying her eggs, and how she actually went to the other side of the viv to get some twigs and false leaves to place ontop of her buried eggs, he said it was a very interesting observation and he hasnt seen it before, so i was wondering if anyone else out there has a houseproud crestie!? haha. i wouldve got some pics of it but ive already retrieved them, lets hope she does it again! _________________ [3.2.6 R.Ciliatus|1.4.7 R.Auriculatus

Well I don't have a Crested gecko but, my female beardie after laying 18 eggs last saturday decided to push the my male beardie she he was on top of the eggs!
I was a little surprised as in the past she has spent a lot of time packing the sand around them. But this time she decided to pack Twigleg (my male beardie) around them instead.
All the eggs were fine after I got them out, strange girl is Esme. _________________ Beardies are the way!

I'll tell you what I have noticed with egg laying, they lay at various depths depending on how wet the nest box substrate is. If it's too wet they tend to lay on or near the surface, also the same if it's too dry.
Also when multiple females have all laid in the same week they ALL quite often lay in the same place, there's nothing better than digging up 8-10 pearly white crestie eggs out of one box
Gargoyles are similar too and lay depending on the substrate moisture, however so far my R. chahoua have only ever laid eggs on the surface, NEVER once tried to bury them (got another 3 eggs incubating now ) _________________

another two eggs today!! just buried beneath the surface! and yet again she went to the other side of the tank and took some leaves to put ontop, looks like she shoved some substrate up the side of the tank aswell, very interesting indeed, she also layed them in exactly the same spot as last time! _________________ [3.2.6 R.Ciliatus|1.4.7 R.Auriculatus
