|
|
Hi Guys, I got this female piebald about a month or so ago and up to now she has not fed. Tried the usual tricks to try to get her to feed but not that concerned as they normally fast for period's of time. When I got her she weighed 460 grams and to date she hasn't lost too much weight (only Lost a few grams). My concern is that she is very long and thin compaired to some of my other royals, has anybody got any thought's to whether being so long and thin is just normal or whether it's a problem. I have other royals such as the spider in the picture below who weighs 800 grams but is no where near as long as the piebald. I know that reticulated python's grow long then reach a length and bulk out and was unsure whether this is the case with my piebald. Can anybody help? _________________ Deano |

She'll bulk up once she starts feeding, I've had a few royals hit the 800-1000g mark then stop feeding for a few months. _________________

Remove all mirrors
seriously tho at 1700 I would not be overly concerned ...she's probs just being a female royal ( hence mirror J/K ) _________________ 3.7.0 Royals

Thanks for the comments, from what I have experienced there seems to be two different growth rates with royals;
1. Short but stocky royals which seem to gain weight quickly.
2. Long and thin royals that achieve a certain length and then bulk out which are slower at achieving breeding size.
Has anybody else experienced this with royals? _________________ Deano |
