|
|
I want to build a fake wall background in my old Juwel Vision 180 tank. The wall will be attached to wood not the glass so I can remove the wall for easy cleaning. I'm going to use pieces of polystyrene to create ledges and expanding foam, then I will cover this with tile grout and when dry I will paint on a mixture of pva glue and different colour sand.
I've been to loads off forums gathering (stealing) info. The only thing I can't find out is what tile grout should I use. Pre-mixed grout or powdered grout?? I've also read that I should add cement to the grout.
Any advice on anything above will be very much appreciated.
Juwel Vision 180

Never tried the ready mixed stuff but powdered grout is cheaper to buy and you can mix it to your own consistency. I also think it would be easier to add the cement to the powder grout rather then trying to mix it with the pre mixed stuff.
I have tried both cement and grout on there own with some disappointing results. I followed MasterPT step by step guide (60/40 cement & grout mix)and my most recent project turned out well. |

I'm going to my local builders merchant today, So I'll add cement to my shopping list. I've got to wait for the kids go back to school before I can get started. I can't wait for next week, Peace and quiet _________________

If you do a search under my name you will find my fake wall. All I used was standard powder form tile grout. I then did a layer or 2 of PVA over the top to stick the sand. |

Well I've spotted 4 locusts but no lizards. I hate these games Can wall be used for snakes or are the just a lizard thing? I am just wandering.
Edit: I think I got it, above the 1st locust on the left of the picture, on the recks by the plant. |

I think its a skinky looking liz, right at the top of viv, on top shelf, emerging from the cork bark tunnel!
Am I right?
If I am right, do I win the viv?! _________________ 1.1.7 Bearded Dragons
