Hi mate all depends on what you are going to house..most my vivs I have built are made from conti board which is readily available in homebase etc and they will happily cut it to size so just a matter of screwing it together..There are also a multitude of vents you can use which can also be found at most diy stores..I use silicone to seal all the internal angles but let it dry out well before placing any animals inside.. |

4ft by 2ft by 2ft would be fine for up to a trio.
Here's a rough cutting list
2off 2ft x 4ft for the top & bottom
2off 2ft x 2ft for the two sides
1 piece of hardboard 4ft by just over 2ft (you need to add on the extra height due to the thickness of the top and bottom)
Then I would recommend a plinth along the front bottom & top, this can be 2 to 3" high. At the bottom you put the glass runners on, this stops the substrate falling out & at the top it hides the light fittings a little.
You would also need to seal all internal edges with silicone sealant and leave to dry for at least 48hours.
You want two vents min, 1 high up on the end with the heat source, the other low down in the cooler end, this helps with convection of air. _________________
