Checking out some websites that sell morphs, some of the prices are a tad steep... Is there a serious market for these snakes, especially some of the wackier combinations, like albino spiders and so on? _________________ 1 male caramel corn snake, Loki

Sorry if it seems like such a daft questions, its just that I sometimes find the prices of them quite difficult to swallow...not saying they arent worth it of course, I just cant imagine anyone outside of breeders paying that amount of money. _________________ 1 male caramel corn snake, Loki

Ball Python morphs are my favourite snakes but I definately think they are WAY overpriced.
Many people will defend this statement, lets hear it guys

The most I have paid so far is £1000 for a pair of 100% Het Pieds, which I will breed and if all goes well, breed the Pied to an albino to produce the Awesome Albino Pied.
I will be a happy man!
For me, Hets is the way to go whereever possible, just need patience

Not good Ad. Well I'm a patient guy and I love normal Royals too (Hets are normal to the eye obviously)
Id rather 'start from scratch' and know I have had a hand in producing an amazing looking snake as opposed to buying one off the shelf.
Couldnt afford to even if I wanted to though

I'm sure i read somewhere about Forbes (the American investment company) suggesting royal pythons as one of the best investments 2 years in a row something about it taking 7 years to double the money you input while high risk stocks and shares take about double that time.
this may be wrong as i haven't checked it out thouroughly i just wish i had SOME money to invest in visual morphs . therefore in answer to the original question when viewed as an alternative (far better and more fun in my books) to other investments people are therefore looking after the pennies in the long run when they pay for expensive royals while purchasing a piece of living art at the same time. _________________ 61 and counting |

I like the sound of that
I also agree with the living art comment, although royals aren't exactly what i'd call exhibitionists!!! _________________ A lil bit of Madagascar
