Hi, me again

Just wanting some advice on feeding my BD. I give him fresh kale and geens every day. Sometimes with apple or carrot. Today he had some carrot mixed in with his greens. He rooted through the lot and ate all the carrot. Basically is what im feeding him ok. I have offered banana and he didnt want to know. Im also dusting his crickets once a week. Is this enough?

thanks, alison and tony

sounds fine, obviously the greater range of foods the better the diet but greens, kale & carrot are fine. Mine just get spring greens as their veg intake and then locust and cockroaches as their insect diet.

Dusting food for adult beardie once a week is fine, although egg laying females could cope with 3 or 4 'dusts' per week.

My growing dragons are dusted 3 to 4 times per week while growing fast then slowly changed to once / twice per week.

This works for my dragons, although others may have different schedules Wink

sorry Tony, age doesn't mean too much to me, my beardeds were adults and had laid eggs by 6 - 7 months....lol

Basically they need more calcium when growing or producing eggs, so if yours is still growing etc, then 2 or 3 times a week is fine.

What are you dusting them with?
