Hi
I've been keeping/breeding beardeds for a few years now, but have never quite got to grips with the issue of hydration.
I have tried keeping water bowls in their vivs but (1) they NEVER drink from them and (2) they fill up with sand immediately and (3) because the dragons walk through them all the time I end up with raised humidity in the viv.
If I use a sprayer they will sometimes start drinking, but often as not they start lapping up dirty water that pools up in the sand or what have you.
Therefore I feed greens every 2 to few days, and wash/spray these to make sure they are moist. I also put the dragons in a bath of an inch or two of warm water for 20 - 40 minutes somewhere between twice a week and once every two weeks.
What do others do?
Cheers,
Mark. |

alright mark i have the exact same problems what i do is just give them a bath in a large cat litter tray a couple times a week if they thirsty they drink
for hatchlings i use a medicine syringe to put a couple drops on there noses theyll lick it up this is a pain tho especially if you got like 20 babys to do but its deffo worth the time as all your babys will stay hydrated
hope this helped |
