I currently have a few hatchling Yemens (youngest at 7 days the elder ones at 10 days old). I have noticed today that a couple of them, although taking the crickets, them proceed to spit them out. The crickets I am feeding are 1st instar. Has anybody else experienced this and should I be concerned. I am also feeding fruit flies, with out any obvious problems.

are they black or brown crickets?

I have noticed quite a few species don't like black crickets.

Nope, just the brown, explained problem to local retile shop, advised to try larger crickets. Just dusted and put some larger ones in, at the moment they are just looking at them, or when the crickets gets to close they move out of the way and let it past, fingers crossed they start to eat them.

I would not put to large a cricket in at that age as they may well feel intimidated. I would stick with micros and fruit flies for the first few weeks, then gradually build up the food size to smalls etc.
