Right so i've been waiting and waiting and waiting as i do for these royals to break their fasts which they normally have by march/april but not this year, some are starting to look like they need feeding others still look okay.
All are fine health wise and i'm not exactly pulling my hair out i'm just a bit fed up of it all now as it would be nice to actually have my female hit 1500g as even my girl that was has gone down a bit now and she didn't fast the year before.
So are there any tips and tricks people have used that successfully got royals out of their fasting, i offer them food every 2-4weeks solely as i don't get food out for them and i don't want to cause any aggrevation with constantly sticking food in front of their faces so that they come to associate food with stress.
I'm not keen on going gerbil as that knowing my luck will result in them all going gerbil only.
I did a temp drop to try and spur them on they're all back to normal now with hotspots of 90-92 and ambient of around 80.
All the young royals are feeding its just those of breeding age which are giving me headaches, i decided not to breed this season as my girl wasn't up to 1500g really and my morph boys weren't ready either so i just want to gain some lost meal times so that they are definitely up to breeding size for the end of the year.
Anyone got any ideas on how to spur them on a bit?

Quote: | Also avipro, apparently |
I had fantastic succes last year with avipro. My female which is soon to lay eggs was 900grm when I bought her in june 2006, also she had fasted for 3 months prior to me getting her, she fed for me after much messing but when I got the avipro literally all hell broke out. in march this year she was 2200grms
have given avipro this week to my others that have not fed for a while will let you know if it has helped.

Not too keen going live really as i know they eat defrost and we're talking bigger live food which i don't deem too safe to be honest i have no problems with live to babies but not bigger sizes in all honesty.
I'll try some avipro and see how that goes and hope for the best i mean worst case is it won't work and i have to wait for them to naturally decide to eat again.

you've probably tried this already but to get my royal out of her winter fast I dropped the food size down a bit and she seemed more interested.
hope no one minds me posting a link to a different forum but there's a list of suggestions of how to get a snake to eat
