|
|
Hello all,i have a problem in my rep room,i am getting tiny flies all over the place(not fruit flies there alot smaller)i had a big clean out last week and keep things spotless but i keep getting these little buggers in my cricket bin,and in my vivs! and there doing my nut!!
i use no substrate,so the only thing i can think of is the soil the plants grow in???
Has anyone had this problem, and know how to rectify this,do i need the change all the soil my plants are planted in??
Many thanks

They sound like they could be plant root flies, they tend to appear this time of year. Not sure of their correct name. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

I have this problem too, Luke. I have also had a friut fly infestation in my cricket tubs. I think the higher temps in the rep room don't help! _________________

Luke; step slowly away from your flies, now leave them alone! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Oh those are great fun. We had a house full of em when my grandad was given a bag of compost by the lady next door.
Not a lot you can do besides empty the pots, wash them and the roots/stems down, and re-pot. _________________
