I have had number of eggs hatch out recently, however a couple of eggs collapsed right at the end of the incubation period. These eggs were opened up and contained perfectly formed geckos, but which failed to hatch. any suggestions as to why this would have happened? |

that has happened to me i opened them and found dried geckos inside. im not an expert on this by any means but what i have read about is that they dent when there is not sufficient moisture. i started to mist spray the vermiculite (NOT the eggs) of mine after seeing them dent a few weeks ago and have now had some hatchlings this week.
i hope this helps

Thanks for the info. No in all instances the gecko's were dead, but not dried up.I will just have to accept that it is "just one of those things". I did have a thought, could it have happened if the earlier hatchlings had disturbed the eggs? |

it kinda sucks no matter what. a great way how to learn how to do things correctly is by messing up. think back in your head as to what you could do differently, and change it for the next time.
the good thing about leopard geckos is its hard to get them to NOT lay eggs.
so youll have another chance soon enough. _________________ cardboard city. |
