We are nearly in the final stages of a total ReptileClassifieds.co.uk site upgrade.
The new site will be totally new and the software unique to this site only.
We welcome your comments on what features you would like to see in the new site, i.e. Location of adverts etc
You DO NOT need to be a forum member to post in this thread.
Thanks for you time.
ps... thanks for all previous suggestions, many have already been added to the design brief _________________

I think the current format with ads listed in their entirety with big bold titles is spot on - a lot more user friendly than other classifieds I've used. Bit more colour and perhaps some pics to brighten it up a bit might be nice.
Also would it be possible for forum users to log in with forum info when posting ads with ad then displaying user info as it would in a forum post? Feel this would enable other users to identify who's who (just a thought). _________________ 1.0.0 Eublepharis Macularis (albino)

thanks for the suggestions,
the new site WILL require you to register and will display a user name of your choice. this should help cut down on any scammers plus helps buyers identify who they are buying from.
the format will also stay the same with BOLD titles and full adverts going down the page the same as now.
It will still be free to register and place adverts _________________

I'd like to be able to search by location, a fixed list of counties/regions or by post area? Maybe a basic feedback/rating system.. probably a bit trickier. |

So far its looking very good!Still very easy to navigate and use..IMO having looked around at other classifieds I think it will be easily one of if not THE best Reptile classifieds site out there.
Some good suggestions in this thread too and they are all being looked into as well..so if you have anymore post away. _________________

I would agree that an option to search or display location would be an advantage, it would be good to see at a glance if there's a 500 mile round trip involved! other than that i find the classifieds easy to navigate and read, another classifieds i read tells me which adverts are new since i last visited the page, or atleast it tries to, this i think could be cool.
Thanks

Good thinking there Stan would make it easier for users to search for accessible sellers as most sellers offer collection only and finding that this could mean a 300 mile round trip can be off putting. A feedback system would be good for identifying scammers but could lead to difficulties due to the nature of what is being sold - problems would not always be instantly apparent so could lead to false positive feedback or differences in experience/knowledge/perception regarding descriptions re. morphs could lead to false negatives.
