the strangest thing was found this morning... my male usually sleeps in the front corner behind the thermostat, but upon waking him 2 do the weekly tank spotclean i found him curled in a ball and had dug himself into the peat so basically buried himself underground, is that usual or is he just a bit of a freak? |

They tend to go somewhere else if they've been disturbed in their normal sleeping space.
Also burying themselves isn't an odd thing to do either, mine has done that as well and I have heard of others doing it. _________________ 1.1.1 Crested Geckos

one of my males used to bury himself in the females nesting box, so i changed it to vermic. and he doesnt bother anymore. _________________ [3.2.6 R.Ciliatus|1.4.7 R.Auriculatus

I have a small stone hide in the tank which Spud seems to go into around the time of shedding.. I think coz its more humid in there.. but the soil stuff is packed too tight for her to bury in it I think lol
Maybe your male is coming up to shed? _________________

Eep... not sure about how often adults shed as Spud is my oldest and is only 7 months old.. she sheds about once every month though.. I assume that unless adults shed at the same pace as juvies that they slow down as they get older coz of the decreased growth rate..... maybe Leo was just having an odd day _________________
