My first ever boa i've had for years past away today RIP
Her history
I purchased her from a pet shop that had a litter, all of which had balance issues with thier head. She was one of the more balanced ones and as long as she was clinging something (my arm usually) very tighly she was fine, only when she went out too far did she lose balance.
Anyhow i have had Arnie for 6 years now and this year, when cleaning her tank put hwer in with a male i have. I came back and witnessed copulation so thought wehat the hell, i'll leave 'em at it.
Seperated them a wee after, She swole up, had a shed and went off of her food. Week after week she got bigger and bigger 2/3's of the way down her body, i was convinced she was gravid.
Checked on her yesterday when i got back form clochester zoo with the kids and she was dead with blood coming from her mouth.
Could this have been a pregnancy complication?
We are totally devastated and i cried for hours yesterday (insert big poof comment here).
Im taknig it she either had a complication with the babys or she wasnt pregnant at all and hada tumour or something.
She didnt exhibit any signs of illness at all. Very sudden
You will be sadly missed. _________________ Just a collector/lover for now |

aw no I remember the photos you put up on the web of arnie, she was a big beautiful girl.
Oh yes, I'd have been worried if you hadn't cried for ages, it shows you were obviously a very loving owner and she had the best care possible. |

You have my deepest sympathy I too lost my beloved Kingsnake, Sammy this week. Hers was a sudden death too and completely unexpected. Although we have 15 other snakes, she's left a huge gap in our lives.
We have both lost much loved members of our family _________________ 3 Royal Pythons - Byron, Bobby & Rosie
