ok so the bloke i got my gecko off needs to get rid of the last 2 before he can get anymore babies in so my questions for you peeps are;
1) it worth it?
2) if hes been in with them for the past 9 months in a fairly small enclosure then the other 2 must be female cause he said they've lived fine together for the past 9 months,

with the looks of what i remember they are the same size as him so about the same age id think.

anything you think i should ask him before i agree to buy them?

If they can't be sexed you can't be sure but at nine months I would say they should be easily sexed.

Various points to consider:

Have you thought about the rigours of mating, the strain on the females and the associated diet changes needed, and of course incubating and housing any off-spring.

There are no guarentees that they will get along when moved into a new environment, new viv new rules.

I personally advise new keepers to get a minimum of 6 months exp with a new gecko before branching out. You can't possibly have experienced all the ups and downs yet and having 3 only adds to the madness.

living together for that long doesnt nessesarily make them female, my two males lived together for nearly 2 years without any problems and have recently had to be split because they have started fighting, reached their mature age i guess. if you want them and can afford to buy another 2 setups if they need to be split then go for it, you just gotta think about how far you student loan can stretch lol.... i know my bank doesnt like me at the minute :S

2 for 70 quid is a good offer but like the others have said, you need to be financially able to afford the other setups if they're needed.. I wouldn't rush into buying them.. definately have a long think about it before you make your mind up Smile

oh i can afford it lol thats not a problem, (working fulltime now due to quitting uni to go back to college) like i said the only problem is the sex, went to see them today to have a look, the bloke who owned it wasnt in so i just looked thru the glass where they are sleeping on the heater and i couldnt see any signs of them being male, and the person that worked said as fair as he knows there was only 1 male which i took, they are all just under a year old

still... as im sure scott will tell you you can never be 100% sure with cresties untill they are about 16 months+ some people have had "females" which have dropped balls over night lol! and it is hard to tell with cresites as the pores are so small... even the most experienced of breeder have trouble telling you if an animal is 100% female untill you have seen it lay eggs or it hasnt dropped and big cahoonas when its 2 years old ... Laughing
remember space is an issue as well as money, but like jo said it is a good deal and if you can afford to house 3 and think you know enough about them to handle 3 i dnt se why you shouldt get them, dnt buy them just because they are there tho, never a good idea...
