that's one great looking pied, not looking any worse for 11months of poor feeding.
What do you think made her take in the end? _________________

She was WC.
The problem was finding what she was used too.
She has been in several differant sized racks, differant levels, differant substrates and hides.
I finally moved her to a 4ft vision, this had 50mm of aubiose and 2 hides.
She was offered everything i could find. African spinys, egyptian spinys, multimmamots, gerbals, rats and mice.differant sizes and colours.
When i imported her she was 1670g,in 11 months she only lost 250g.
I have a WC woma(ball morph not aspidites) and she came in at 2700g,the only thing she would take were black mouse hoppers. It took 4 months to get her to take rats.
About 10 weeks ago i put in 2 rat fluffs and the rest is history. Gradually i have increased the size, now she is on 2 small rats a week and is upto 1610g.
The main thing i changed was to include a 2% uvb tube which is diffused by the grill. Also the hides have small holes in the top.
I think she started in the end due to surruondings being close to her own.
The size of the food also is an indication that maybe she used to raid mice/rat nests in village locations not in open scrubland. |
