Well. Seems im a sucker for the royals. I'm going pro Very Happy Decided today.
So, a question for ya'll. Other than my Albino which I WILL be producing regardless of price, what other morphs do you bigger breeders consider to be the next step. Or to word it better, which morphs do you think will be the key morphs in future breeding.
I want to invest now. I'm somewhat impatient so would rather I have heavily, breedable animals when the time comes. I think I'm going to go Albino, Pastel (don't all good collections need one) and Mojave. Maybe Pied as a side project. I'd love one with a wee white collar Very HappyVery Happy

I don't totally agree with the Eggman but I certainly would suggest the Pied is and always will be a KEY player in the morphs.

It's a long way to go before all the pied combos come out so personally I would go for female pieds (as many as you can get) and then a few combo morph males.

Bumblebee male, Pewter male etc Mate them to your female pieds, then you will produce Spider/pastel/cinnamon/bumblebee all het for pied, raise a male on from each and breed back to the mother that coming season (males WILL mate if given enough food from hatching), you will then potentially hatch out pied combos from each of your morphs....all in the space of TWO breeding seasons.

As for key morphs, I'd say the following (in no particular order)
Spider
Pastel
Cinnamon
Pied
Albino
Lesser/Mojave
Stripes

Lessers & Mojaves may have dropped in price but that just means you can breed you own leucistics a lot cheaper & leucies will still be very popular snakes Wink

Hmm. I will include Pied in my line up then Smile
Only reason I considered pastel was to lighten colouration. I'm a dimwit in genetics and inheritance so please excuse me if I'm talking crap Very Happy
What do you both think of Ivory? Personally I love the morph but don't see much of a market for them.

You were both right. Yellow Bellies are wonderful in terms of breeding. I think I'll invest in a male. The Ebony (produced when crossing YB and Granite) is beautiful! I've seen an almost uniform black animal in a picture.
