This weekend we had Austin Stevens at our shop for book signing.
A few photos we took yesterday during Austins visit to the Reptile Zone. He was only contracted to stay for 3 hours but ended up staying almost 6 hours.
We also had Philzoofari and Luton Reptile rescue along for the day - hence the photos of squirrels, foxes, racoon dog etc.
This is Phil with his Racoon dog, Austin holding Nerys' skunk and Dave with one of the foxes.
Many of you know Lou ( Peaches) pictured with her sweet daughter.

The kids found a beautiful red butterfly that had died and decided to have a funeral. They invited Austin and he was more than happy to attend, lol.
Pete was asked if he could take a couple of snakes down for the Festival of Nature in Bristol on Saturday, for Austin Stevens to introduce to the public and we ended up spending a lovely afternoon with him and his publisher.
What a lovely down to earth man he is, an absolute pleasure to chat to. He was fantastic with the kids going out of his way to make sure every child had the opportunity to touch a snake. He took time out to chat to every single person who came to see him and make time for them , as well as posing for photographs and giving autographs. I don't think I've met a nicer celebrity ( not that I've met lots, lol). He even looked after Beth for us when she said she wanted to stay with him rather than wander around the festival with us.

Great photo sequence, Angi. Looks like everyone had a great day! Nice to see Austin is different from his on-screen persona, too! _________________

I know everyone who met him thought the same. One lady described him as " one of the gang" ,he was chatting to people as if he had known them for years, full of encouragement and complimentary comments for people, but none of it was false, he was completely genuine.
While all the parents didn't bother going to the butterfly funeral, he was the one that went out of his way to take a special interest in it.
He was thrilled to hear that people had actually read his books and keen to hear their views. _________________ Cheers Angi
