|
|
I've just got back from holiday and i'm already bored and also worrying about my gcse results, so i thought i'd give myself a project to keep me occupied.
I've got an 18x18x18 inch fishtank and im gonna try to convert it, probably into a crestie viv.
can anyone point me in the right direction?
i was thinking of putting it on its side so its a front opening viv.
there's also a huge juwel filter siliconed in the corner so i was thinking if i remove the filter bit and the heater and leave the casing in its a ready made hide, but how could i make it more naturalistic looking?
thanks in advance,

sounds like a good plan to me, all you need to do is get someone to cut a piece of glass for the door , and buy a glass hinge im guessing from B&Q or somewhere similar, as for the filter/heater sounds good, you would have to wash it, other than that sounds good, you could add some coco fiber around it , or even add some fake plants on it, like buy the plant and strip some of the leaves off and add it onto the filter...
hope this helps _________________ bearded dragon/ 0.1.0

thanks for the help.
I think i am going to leave the fish tank upright and have a mesh and wood top, will this provide enough ventilation for a crestie? And whats the best way of making one?
Also I think I'm going to make the filter casing into a bit of a feature.
I'm thinking of putting some holes in it and then covering the rest of the casing with expanding foam, than silicone over the top and put dried coco fiber on it and then put soil in the casing and have some plants coming out of the holes. |

I've come up with a design for the top which i think will work.
Will b and q or wickes cut the wood to specific sizes for me? |

if your gona go for mesh for a front , i suggest you build a smalll frame that fits the outside of the tank that goes about 5-7 inches up , then build another frame and thats the door, sorry it may sound confusing, so heres a pic.
