Esmeralda has started laying.... YIPPEE Delighted that this year she has accepted her laying box and has been ploughing through the moss for a few days. Last year she had 20 good eggs, all of which hatched, and 2 slugs. It is now the middle of the night and I am on mid-wife duty!!! Not that she needs any help but it is so exciting. My Hognose has sloughed and gone into her laying box. Fun ahead. Incubator all set up and ready |

She is still laying, 16 good looking eggs so far and more to come. She is such a good natured girl. Bulls have a bad reputation but I think that that is because they are very feisty as youngsters and just need to be gently tamed. Her mate the Northern Pine is also a gentle snake. Last years babies were most unusual with a rusty coloured 'wash' all over them. |
