hi guys,
hope im posting this in the right area, i'm getting a new viv bulit for my veiled cham and wanted some advice about heating and lighting. the viv will be 915L X 460W X 1220H aprox 510 litres. i would like to have live plants in the viv.
i was thinking of using a powersun but i'm not sure how the plants would react to it also any ideas about the wattage that would give a good heat grade over this size tank.
thanks for any help

You may be better off using another UV light plus a seperate bulb for heating which can be controlled by a thermostat, as apparently you cannot use a thermostat on a powersun.

Power suns are really beefy lighting and i would say not really needed,
I would use a reptisun 5.00 or 10.00 tube combined with a 60-80 watt R80 Type bulb the bulb head is bigger on a R80 giving you a wide basking area.the plants should grow well with the reptisuns as long as the right conditions are met,if you have problems with growing the plants add a reptisun 2.00 along side the 5 or 10 and you will be fine.
Once you are set up check your gradients(Uv also) and make any adjustments as needed either by using a lower wattage or higher wattage.a good starting point is a 60 watt.
Thermostats in chameleon keeping are to stop over heating only,
chameleons thermoregulate themselfs so it defeats the object to a certain degree.
I use them but just to stop over heating in the summer
