you need to feed every day for such a young animal the best diet you can feed is freshly picked weeds dandelion , plantain, clover and sow thistle try to avoid lettuce, tomatoe, and cucumber they have no nutritional value and your tortoise wont grow properly .
I no at this time of year its difficult to find weeds but for just one small baby you shouldn't have a problem till the first heavy frosts which kill of most weeds you may then have to resort to commercial greens from your local super market again avoid lettuce etc and try rocket, some romaine lettuce( this is the only one with any nutritional value)and the prepared mixed herb packets ,as for amounts allow your tortoise to eat as much as it wants for half an hour twice daily remember to use a good vitamin and mineral suppliment i find nutrabol the best twice -three times aweek also you will need to feed daily a form of calcium carbonate

i grow my own weeds in the winter http://www.tlady.clara.net/herbiseed.htm

I also dust there food with lime stone flour which is a good sorce of calcium i do this every day. You can get this from any good horse supplier. I put lots on as they cannot over dose on this and vitamins 3-4 times a week

I cannot stress enought how weeds are the best food to feed a tortoise.
Below you can see a picture of my tunisan tortoise, i didnt really know how to feed it, but within the past 2 years i have been feeding weeds and if you look closely you can see where the shell is growing it is growing flat instead of lumpy also i think the limestone flour had some thing to do with that.

Here is a good web site for identifying weeds http://www.tlady.clara.net/TortGuide/index.htm
