Does anyone else's salvator monitor make vocalisations?

My baby Salvator can occassionally be heard making a chirping/squawking noise but he's always been hidden under a hide when he's doing it so I can't see what he's up to.

Is this normal?

thanks, Rob

Hi,

Without seeing the animal, it sounds like a respiratory problem.

thanks for the replies

I only hear him make the noise very occassionally (once a week - and i've been working from home a lot and sat in the same room as him)

and when i've seen him basking or had him in the bathtub for a swim his breathing had appeared normal, no noises and no bubble sof mucus around his nostrils.

he's never made the noise when he's been picked up, just when he's hidden away out of sight in his viv.

I haven't heard him make the noise in weeks now, so I guess its nothing to worry about.
