|
|
I have decided to make a fake wall for the back of my 'viv' and I was just wondering what is needed.
At the moment I know/think I need:
Polystyrene Sheet
Extra Polystyrene
Expandable Foam
Grout
Unibond (Or some other sticky stuff)
Sand
I have seen all these used on other Fake Walls in this forum and just wondered if this is all I need or wether I need more, or some of that isn't needed. _________________ 1.1.1 Crested Geckos

Is that in place of something? And does it go on top or underneath the sand? _________________ 1.1.1 Crested Geckos

I got into the shop and when I asked if they had Unibond the person said (My dad had told him what it was for) that Unibond could give of vapours which could harm the lizards...Is this right?
If so what are the alternatives? _________________ 1.1.1 Crested Geckos

Unibond do a Waterproof PVA Adhesive.
Alternatively you could use epoxy or Elastopur. |

here's the steps i've used when i make fake rocks
1) shape polystyrene chunks/sheets
2) fill gaps with expanding foam
3) cover with 3 or 4 layers of tile adhesive and grout
4) cover in varnish
5) seive on sand
6) repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have 2 or 3 layers of sand and its nice and hard
7) finish with a layer of varnish
hows your fake rock going? _________________ 0.1.0 Royal Python - Wednesday - CB04
