i was wondering the latin name rick, cheers. I just wondered as they are starting to be more popular pets, but always thought this lowland streaked species were nice looking little fellas. Other than Echinops Telfaeri are there any others that are available in pet trade, i know there are a few different species.
(oh and rick have you seen any more signs of mating- were they sexed when you got them, or too hard to tell?) |

These Tenrecs are available in the UK; Tenrec Ecandatus, there is a trio on offer. The striped ones I doubt if they are available in the UK. Not sure on that one but doubt it. 10 genera of extant tenrecids and 24 species. These are divided into three subfamilies, the Tenrecinae and Oryzoryctinae (both confined to Madagascar) and the Potamogalinae (west-central Africa).
Yes lots of mating action, see one of my previous posts. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

didn't think they'd be around in the UK either to be honest... shame. Just read your thread, hope you get lucky... or at least they do |
