i wasn't going to spam the forum on each of your hots threads, but thanks for bringing them to attention it's not often i wander into the DWA section... most posts are more about obtaining a liscence or starter hots than anything else. You've got a great collection and in such a short space of time is great (must have been a lot of reading and a steep leaning curve ). The V. ammodytes is great, but i'm a big fan of all the Vipera genus, especially the europeans. Are they easy to work with? Hope you find the horned viper sooner rather than later |

I was raised in Tanzania, so mambas and puff adders etc. were a part of every day life. My old man figured its best to show me how to do it properly than drive me to hospital. I got my first captive cobra when I was 13 and its been an everlong passion from there.
Right now I house 57 venomous snakes, but the Mambas stay my favourites though _________________ ngiyakuthanda Sonvanger |

Thanks I appreciate your comments.
Yes it was a steep learning curve but I'm not joking mate, all I've done for the last year is eat, drink and sleep venomous snakes ( not literaly! )
The ammodytes is great to work with and is the only one of my snakes that I can tail but sometimes she can have a bit of a temper!
She was my first and at about 5" long it wasn't too difficult to stay outside of her strike range! _________________ You can't trust the snake......but you can always trust the snake to be a snake. |

I have been working with V. ammodytes for about 6 years now, and I love their temperament. Love the fact that they are really curious, lazy and quite dolce. Untill.... When they strike, you do not stand a chance. What I do not like, is their ability to calculate distance.. _________________ *** Miqe ***

My English is so poor but I'll try my best ...
I had kept throughout few years Tarantulas ... My friend got used to says ...With Tarantulas you'll get bored ! Try reptiles ! They're cool !
But I didn't feel nothing special with reptiles ...
Then , one day ...
We went to one man and he has had at that time just one Crotalus Durissus female ... And that was it , the love at first time !
It was around 7 years ago when I had 28 ...
Did I knew that I know what I'm doing? I think I knew but without experience it was stupid ! But love is love !
After that one snake came anothers ...
I were doing things that even known Vet was scared when I told him ;o)
All that like force feeding and similar things I had to do to help them ...
After that came experience ...
Now , after 7 years of practice I know I am the right man to keep them ...
But hasn't had Steve Irving experience ? ...
What I'm try to say ...
Even you're very experienced person ... YOU NEVER KNOW !
This love , this hobby ... This is a BIG risk !
The best wishes ... |
