Does anyone keep these?

I went to a new reptile shop that opened last week and they had a pair of them.

I'd never seen them before but they are stunning.
Apparently they are meant to be aggresive but the male happily let me handle him. Until he curled around my throat a bit too tight Shocked

I was surprised how calm it was. The owner said they started off using snake hooks and the only person who could handle him was one of the owners.
He stretched across to me and the owner gave me the knot and the snake happily let me hold him.

He had a look around then curled around my neck. Although i had to put him back when he got a bit tight.

He wasnt jumpy or nervous at all and the only experience of snakes i have is my little garter snake who doesnt like handling at all so i dont.

I have been heeping Gonyos for over twenty years. As captive bred they are easy snakes. Wild caught are still less than 50/50 that they will survive. W/c have a habit of doing really well, then you find them dead!

W/c should have attitude, they do calm down but it takes a while, even then they will still take a pop now and again!

Stunning snakes and greatly under rated.

Cheers

Mark
