Just doing an assignment for college and was thinking if you can help me, then quate what you say into my assignment might be a good idea. I would like to know: ???
Is it ethically correct to keep exotics pets in commercial business.
and
if it is ethically correct to breed extoic pets in commercial business.
I have a few for these e.g. health concerns from breeding, welfare of the animals and crueltry issues linked to the last point.
Thanks for any input KJ _________________ Kieron

I'm guessing you mean for re-sale. Well in my opinion and experiance from keeping many different species of animals (birds, mammals and fish too) I would say that the vast majority of available reptiles make ideal & undemanding captives.
Their needs are not like a mammal and as such are much more content with a confined enclosure.
I would say that overall dogs, cats & rabbits are far more likely to suffer from being kept as pets than reptiles (I'm not talking straight neglect or cruelty but rather the effects of boredom etc)
if it is ethically correct to breed extoic pets in commercial business.
Certainly don't see an issue with anyone commercially breeding a species. What gives a chicken less rights than a leopard gecko not to be commercially bred?
Obviously so long as all welfare considerations are adhered to then there is no issue at all in my mind. _________________
