I was in the animal room last night with one of those l.e.d headtorch thingys which I bought as it has red l.e.d.s. and thought i'd let the gliders out to play.

Anyway usually sparx either freezes or runs of to hide when i come into the room and will only come back out if I stay still. But last night I noticed he didnt run away or hide but instead came over to the closest branch to me and was watching the gliders. He was following them wherever they went.

When one of the gliders walked past his viv he came running down and straight over the the glider Shocked then it looked like he wanted to get out of his viv so he could go and see the gliders.

Ive had him since he was 14weeks old and he would have seen the gliders every night as they are opposite his tank. Im wondering if he thinks hes one of them Laughing

Are you sure he is not just chasing shadows/movment and thinking that it is food Very Happy? Mine does this a lot when he is out hunting at night, if I walk past his viv or move slightly etc, he always focuses intently on the spot he saw move. He has even pounced on a shadow before, he didn't catch anything obviously... except a bump on the nose Laughing

no it wasnt shadows. He was definately following the gliders. Caramel was sitting on one side of the glass and he ran down to her. They were both fully lit up in red light.

Plus he doesnt seem interested in my movements just watching the gliders.

He didnt pounce at them just ran up to them and followed their every move.

And if he did think it was food then fair play to him as they are alot bigger than him and there are two of them! Laughing

his interest may well be what the gliders were doing. My day geckos (that are loose in the room) would follow what the fruit bats were up to at all times (they were also loose in the room Laughing )
