well we went to the vet. by then she'd mostly stopped doing it. vet says she was trying to vomit. took an xray, her calciums low so she gave a vit d injection and im to give calcium supplements. she also dewormed her. she thinks she was vomiting because the lack of calcium is making it hard for her to digest.
now today she looks horrible. she's really lethargic and weak looking. i know shes sick but yesterday before we went she looked good. even while we were there she commented on how active she was. now shes barely moving around. she is drinking but not interested in eating. the vet gave me carnivore care in case shes not eating (i told her she had been eating fine) so im going to try to get that into her in a little bit.
i know she's stressed from the visit but im worried we did more harm than good by having her in to a vet and given injections and oral dewormers and holding her down for xrays and all that. |

Hope she recovers. Some wormers can be quite aggressive on the system what was the vets reasoning for worming her? May I ask how the vet knew her calcium was low. Sorry to ask so many questions , just that its interesting. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

she wormed her because i'm an idiot and forgot to bring a fecal, and because of the species shes probably wild caught so she said she probably has some parasites (and she said she's small for her age and breed still).
and she took an xray and said her bones arent as calcium-dense as they should be.
she looks better this afternoon. i left and closed up the room and i added another heat lamp (she was really cold this morning). now she's more active, and i was able to get her calcium and some carnivore care into her and she's not that muddy brown color she was this morning. shes not eating though, i hope she starts that soon, its not easy getting the carnivore care into her. |
