They have been here a week now and seem a lot more settled in front of me. I got to see some great behaviour in the small hours of this morning, and whilst watching them thought of a few ways that I could improve their home.
Today I got another 10 metres of 8mm rope and set to work adding more rope "pathways" to their main roost so that they could access every last corner of the roost. It took around half an hour and of course the bats were present whilst I worked. I worked at the furthest point from them initially as I was invading their "space" and wanted to break them in to the idea gently. Up a ladder , I began working the rope through the roost. Eventually I was working with my hands not 3" away from them. Neither seemed bothered and as either of them could have taken off and flown elsewhere at any moment, I took it to mean that they must be starting to realise that I posed no threat to them.
Having watched me bring them food nightly the past week may well have helped also. I have not so much as attempted to even touch them since their arrival and it seems to be having the desired effect. I have hopes for taming them to a degree.
They now can traverse the roost in it`s entirety due to the rope "pathways" without taking to the wing if they so desire and seem to appreciate it. Here`s a couple of pics taken at 2am today. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

This is the male, by far the most confident of the two, though the female has improved a great deal also. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

I forgot to say Peter, DON'T breathe in the same air as where the bats roost, the virus hangs in the roosting area and just breathing it in causes infection.
Tiredness & headaches are symptoms.
Other than that they are 100% safe _________________

Hang on, speak to you in a bit. I need a lie down as I feel tired and have a head ache. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

I thought Lyssavirus was only transmited through bites
I know there is a vaccine available else where but do you think the local GP would be able to get it? _________________ Paul
