Wait and see what the vet says. At least then you will know what your dealing with. Must feel like the longest wait ever! Good luck.

Right..at last!!!! Well its not as bad as i was expecting and the vet was very positive and reassuring..so here goes.Basically he has inflammatory bowel disease. This accounts for his sporadic feeding and could be down to a nuber of things..first things first he is going on a course of anti-inflammatorys to get the swelling down and see how he responds.i asked if this is why some days he eats for england and other times he is quiet and wont touch a thing and he said yes it all adds up with what the pathologist has found..Hopefully with these pills he should then start to put the weight on and he has to monitored and weighed regularly and we have to keep a record of his feeding etc..There are several courses of action to take but he was optimistic about it and at least we know what we are dealing with now

Information is power mate, gives you back some control and puts you in a position of being able to do something now, but you know that anyway.

I am glad its not as bad as you thought, and that there are various courses of action. Good luck to Dennis, and to you!

Yes it does sound a bit intense and lots of record keeping but worth it, he is a beautifull animal.
