could be. sometimes you just cant be sure. as i said before, i took my green mojave and the g-stripe in to be checked, the mojave was a definate female, the stripe he wouldnt gaurantee anything. told me to take him home put him in with a female and watch his reaction. he was a male!!! Very Happy

One thing you should definitely establish (by gentle popping) is if your male is producing viable sperm plugs! Surprised If 'he' isn't then there isn't any point in keeping them together at this time.

Thank you for your suggestions.
As I have never 'popped' a snake myself before, I will not be trying on this one Im afraid. The last thing I want is to damage him by my lack of experience.

u are so rite not to pop ur royal. i believe that only experienced snake keepers should do that. i''ve done it and i still dread doing it coz u will cause great damage if u do it wrong

i dont even probe mine. my pal does it. he has kept and worked with them for 20 years, so i feel they are safe wi him.

Definately one of those things I'd prefer to be taught under VERY close supervision either probing or popping, I don't like the thought i'd hurt them, I don't mind helping though Very Happy

probing is easy once you have been shown by someone who knows, but great care is needed

i always like someone to hold the snake whilsed i probe it or put its head in a pillow case so to keep it calm Wink

I have someone who can show me, but it still worries me incase I put just a tiny bit too much pressure, but it's definately something that I need to learn how to do.
