well you will know if they are male and female. the only one that i have that couldnt be gauranteed by probing was the g-stripe, but he soon proved when placed with a female that he was male.

I have a female that probes male aon one side and female on the other That was a worry I can tell you, but she has since proved female

I'll have a look at those clips myself later on, I'm nosy like that.

My male and female started off at opposite ends as well, and my male seemed to be trying to get out, you may find that tonight is the time if they follow roughly the same pattern as mine did. Try not to end up on valium worrying, and just keep checking on them every now and again.

Whe i put my hognoses in together for the first time. They both waggled their tails like crazy. Just as you have described.
They mated the next day and i have sucessfully hatched the eggs.
So they are a pair.

Update:

Well I left them a second night. just after I lowered the temps for the night time the tail wagging activity started up again. he was doing it vigorously .... her just gentle swishing. When they get near each other's faces they seem to flinch away. The larger one as much as the littlun. I probed all my Royals for some comparison this morning and am pretty sure, tho cannot ever be certain I guess, that i have a pair in these 2.
Female 3.5 - 4 scale depth
Male 7-8 scale depth.
He is a lot smaller so his scales are too lol
It is feed day today so they are now separated and being left in peace until this evening. I bet after all this stress they wont feed now and serves me right I guess! Time will tell.
