when it came out it was compared to the nikon d80 and only just lost in practical photography magazine _________________

yeah then nikon moved forward..lol...all jokes aside Steve the 400d is a cracking camera as are the nikons..can't go wrong with either tbh...most of it comes down to the lenses you use in all fairness..The canon will serve you well as its a stonking camera.  _________________

and a little tip or rule of thumb as it were..try and keep your shutter speed equal too or if not greater than the focal length you are using...so for 300mm try and use a shutter speed of 1/300.. _________________
