Agree with H.S. there, pits should be more popular. Maybe the fact that babies can be so feisty puts people off.
Cracking jani Al, congrats on the babies.
You should get over to Hamm this year, meet up with quite a lot of people you haven't seen in years Smile

Cracking pics. I agree Pituophis in general deserve to be more popular, but those are stunning when grown on and adult. Cool

Nice one H.S. Cool

Obviously i agree with you there mate Very Happy

Its really nice when someone falls for the hatchlings and then they see adults, usually leaves them gobsmacked Laughing

Al does the orange on the heads intensify with age or do only certain individuals have the brightly coloured heads?.

Hi Stu Cool

Good question mate.
All the ones from my line develop the orange heads and it also spreads onto the nape on some individuals. In some examples it carries on further past the nape and onto the neck area.

Cheers...........AL

Hi Ron Cool

Good point there Ron,although most snakes are aggressive as hatchlings. Wink

Those jani babies are totally the most placid even tempered i ever bred, strange how each gen of c/b's seems to get less aggro as hatchlings.
Compared say to hatchling annectans(which tend to be nutters Wink ) im surprised at just how chilled they are.

Im thinkin i might have to visit the Snake Day my friend. Very Happy
In all honesty re: Hamm, although id love see lots of old friends and party etc. the show itself is not my idea of fun anymore.I guess i'd go if there was something there i defo needed, but to just look round it was far too crowded last time i went (5years or so)
