I am doing my best to fix that problem..
A little story about L. viridis..
On one of my trips to The Republic former known as Yugoslavia, I brought back 3 gravid specimens. (Ofcourse I had a permit to do so..)
After a while they started to dig all over the terrariumfloor, wanting to lay their eggs. I put in a container with moisted Vermeculite, and about 1 week later I had 31+31+29 eggs!! Man, I scratched my head.. How the h**l am I going to hatch all of theese?? Anyway, all the eggs went into a Scherpner-machine and the long waiting-time started..
Now, hereĀ“s your part: Guess how many eggs that hatched! |
No guesses? _________________ *** Miqe ***

Not that far away..
Clutch 1 of 31 eggs, came out 31 small lizards. Clutch 2 of 31 eggs, 29 and of the last clutch that contained 29 eggs came 15..
That makes 75 small lizards... Guess who had to jumpstart another 4 big boxes of crickets... _________________ *** Miqe ***

Hi Scott, I kept in the '80 some Terrapene specimens...2 couples of triunguis I bred one time and a single, giant, male of major ssp. What about the pancake tortoises? Once the w.c. specimens were pretty common and really cheap to acquire in the mid '80, now it's totally another story.
Cheers
