Hi Al

we had a couple of deppei deppei off you a while ago and have to
agree that they are beautiful snakes and very calm.
At what age/weight can they be safely bred?

John

Must admit it does amaze me why they are not as popular as corns or kings..I think they are stunning and would rather these any day

Your right Stu, it also amazes me mate.

Maybe some people will start to move into these colubrids eventually as an alternative to corns, kings etc Question

I temporarily looked after a normal-coloured Gopher. She was a wonderful snake - calm, big and very pretty. I'd happily add one or two to the collection if I had the space!

hi Ally, i think a lot of herpers would be surprised at how calm a lot of pituophis are.
just wacthing Nicks quest on tv and he just picked up a Wild p.m affinis, without so much as a hiss!! Smile

Lovely animals. I used to have a Gopher snake about 10yrs ago. Unfortunately I passed it on before it got to adult. Then this year at the Show in Staffordshire (can't remember the exact location), I stumbled on some Bulls while mainly looking for Mexican Black Kings.
I didn't find any Mex Blacks, but I did purchase a very nice CB06 Bull, as I figure I have unfinished business with Pituophis. Smile
A lovely animal, rather 'vocal' with her hissing and rattling at feeding time, always has me chuckling. Outside of the viv, she soon becomes as calm as any other snake I own. I'm sure I will purchase another.
